Students at Moi University West campus on Thursday held a peaceful demonstration following what they termed as continuous absconding classes by lecturers.
The students walked around the school demanding for the lecturers to attend to their duties.
According to a memo dated October 12, 2018, students pursuing English, Literature, Kiswahili and Mathematics courses were not being taught.
The memo which was written by the academics director at West Campus Leornard Matioli went ahead to inform the school management of their intended peaceful demonstration.
"If the university management will not have solved this menace by Monday, definitely on Tuesday as the students' leader I will lead my fellow comrades on a peaceful demonstration to advocate for what is right and just as far as paying school fees is concerned," part of the memo read.
Some of the students claimed they have not yet begun the syllabus on the grounds that the lecturers had not yet been paid.
"Students studying English, Kiswahili and Mathematics are not being taught since we opened. We have heard allegations that this is because some of the lecturers have not been paid," a third-year student at the campus who requested for anonymity revealed.
The students are now hoping that lecturers will start attending classes from Monday after the demonstration.
