Elachi was impeached over allegations of contravening the Assembly Standing Orders.

The vocal Assembly Speaker is also accused of allegedly intimidating County Assembly staff.

Elachi has however rubbished her impeachment and obtained court orders stopping the county from hiring a new Speaker.

The Speaker's impeachment is said to be causing fears in the Nairobi County Executive leadership.

Peter Ngure, a political analyst, now says that Governor Mike Sonko should be worried following Elachi’s ouster.

Ngure observes that Sonko should be worried since some MCAs have openly expressed their dissatisfaction with his leadership and performance.

“He (Governor Sonko) should now worry after Elachi’s ouster because he is not safe,” he said in an interview on Friday.

The analyst said that Elachi was Sonko’s close confidant.

On Thursday, hours before Elachi’s ouster, a section of MCAs revealed that they were going to meet and discuss Governor Sonko’s conduct.

The MCAs are accusing Governor Sonko of delaying to appoint his deputy, nine months after the resignation of Polycarp Igathe.

Last month, Governor Sonko shortlisted four women among them former Starehe MP Margret Wanjiru for the deputy governor position.
