Speaking at the Kisumu Girls High school on Tuesday, Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) Chairman Professor George Magoha said they will go ahead and administer exams under trees if by any chance students burn all schools.

“The examination is very secure. It has been set; it will be seen on the morning of the examination. So stop burning schools or doing all these tantrums, we’re not going to be moved,” the KNEC chairman said as quoted by Citizen TV.

“If you like, burn more, we will administer those exams under trees, but we’re not going to be intimidated by acts of hooliganism because its three months to exams and normal students should be studying now and getting prepared, not diverting our attention by burning schools,” added Magoha.

The KNEC Chairman was in the company of Education Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed.

They toured various schools in Nyanza that have been affected by student unrest.

Kisumu Girls, Ng’iya Girls, Maranda High School, Ambira Boys, Maliera Boys, Chulaimbo Boys, Usenge Boys and Onjiko High School are only but a few schools that have been closed in Nyanza in the recent past due to student unrest.
