Mombasa nurses have issued Governor Ali Hassan Joho with a 14-day strike notice over unpaid allowances.
Led by Mombasa Secretary Peter Maroko, the nurses on Thursday said that they are yet to receive their allowances despite a promise from the county government.
According to the nurses the stipulated two-week period is enough for county government to pay them.
Maroko also said that they will have no choice but to put down their tools if an amicable solution is not attained.
Around 600 nurses from Mombasa county are expected to take part in the strike if the county government does not address their grievances.
"We have decided to take this direction of joining our comrades in the ongoing strike because we had an agreement with the county government until it was reflected on our pay slips but yesterday our members realized we had not received cash in our accounts," he told journalists.
Nurses from Kilifi, Kwale and Mombasa were not part of the strike before the court suspended the same and asked them to negotiate with the county government
The nurses have also been lamenting over lack of promotions at their work place among other issues that affect their performance.
