According to Buyu, they (women) leaders will rally women and Nyanza residents to protest against what they term as slow investigations into Sharon’s brutal murder.

Speaking to journalists on Sunday in Kisumu, Buyu said that the protests will be held to compel investigating agencies to expedite the probe.

“We are going to lead peaceful protests to compel the police to quickly probe and bring Sharon killers to book,” said the women rep.

Buyu said that Sharon's killers must never walk free.

“As women leaders in Nyanza and in the country, we will not keep silent if police fail to bring the student's killers to book,” she added.

Homa Bay Women Representative Gladys Wanga expressed dissatisfaction with the ongoing probe.

She said that the probe is taking too long yet Sharon’s killers are known.

Former Kisumu Women Rep and now nominated Senator Rose Nyamunga said that justice must be rendered to Sharon,  her baby, and the family.

An ongoing probe into Sharon’s murder has indicted Migori Governor Okoth Obado’s Personal Assistant Micahel Oyamo.

He is among other suspects being held by police in connection to the murder.

An autopsy released last week by chief government pathologist Dr Johansen Odour revealed that Sharon was stabbed eight times and died as a result of excessive bleeding.

The Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji says that anyone implicated in the murder will be dealt with according to the law.
