Leader of Abagusii community in the diaspora Cosmo alias Ombori Monari has yet again launched a vicious attack on Luhya community over their 'obsession' with Deputy President William Ruto.
For several months now, Ruto has pitched tent in the former Western Province, pushing to popularise his State House bid, despite the region having a number of presidential hopefuls.
But Mr Monari, a key mobiliser of ODM in Kisii and Nyamira Counties, now says Western region should consider backing Mr Musalia Mudavadi instead of Dr Ruto.
"Sometimes I get it difficult to understand Luhyas. They have numbers and some wants to have Ruto becoming our president. They don't even see economic atrocities he has committed," he protested.
"They have Musalia Mudavadi, a soft spoken former Vice President who rarely confronts opponents. U don't know why it's difficult for them to support him. They should do that. We can't withstand Ruto's presidency," he said.
For months now, Mr Monari has been firing at DP Ruto, who he accuses of engaging in massive corruption within the country without being apologetic.
Mr Monari has often planned Odinga's meetings with Abagusii community in the diaspora along with Samuel Okemwa, another critic of Ruto.
The Luhya community has produced three Vice Presidents since independence and they include Musalia Mudavadi, Michael Wamalwa and Moody Awori.
