Opposition leader Raila Odinga is now blaming the Judiciary for the growing levels of graft in the nation.
Speaking on Thursday, the former Prime Minister accused the Chief Justice David Maraga-led arm of the government of contributing to the nation's apparent inability to eliminate the menace.
He gave an instance of the many cases where corruption suspects are released by judges even in cases where sufficient evidence is presented by the prosecution.
“It's unfortunate that the Judiciary has not been helping Kenya as a country to fight corruption in our systems.
"We have seen people being arrested and taken to court where evidence is presented but our courts end up releasing these people on bail,” he has was quoted by the Nation.
He was speaking at the University of Nairobi during the 'Bridging The Inequality Gap In East Africa' lecture.
Raila's concerns came only weeks after President Uhuru Kenyatta made similar remarks during Jamhuri Day Celebrations in Nairobi.
Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji has also raised similar concerns, accusing the courts of frustrating him after presenting suspects and evidence before it.
The last time Raila bashed the court was after his loss controversial loss to Uhuru on August 8, 2017, elections.
Raila who was then preparing to file a petition accused the Supreme Court of siding with the ruling side in an initial petition in 2013, saying it was its time to redeem itself.
He went ahead to succeed, resulting in the nullification of the election.
