Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria has raised concerns over the happenings in the political arena, the latest being the alleged plot to assassinate Deputy President William Ruto.
Ruto has implicated four Cabinet Secretaries; Peter Munya (Trade), Joe Mucheru (ICT), James Macharia (Transport), and Sicily Kariuki (Health), alongside a host of Principal Secretaries and parastatal heads from Mt Kenya region in the alleged plot.
Speaking on Tuesday, the parliamentarian noted that things are getting out of hand in the Mt Kenya region, considering that the new claim also lands squarely at the doorstep of the Central Kenya bloc.
He observed that this could be a show of a bigger problem on the ground, stressing on the need for a retreat of area leaders to look into the matter.
"I believe it is our legitimate right as a region to sit down and resolve our issues, these are fires coming from the ground and it would be irresponsible if we did not come up with mechanisms to resolve them," he said.
The MP was speaking on NTV's AM Live show on Tuesday morning.
Led by Munya, the CSs on Monday refuted claims that they have been meeting to plot the DP's downfall but admitted to holding meetings at Lamada Hotel.
A section of leaders from the region has been accused of plotting to block Ruto's 2022 bid, including President Uhuru Kenyatta whose silence has been seen as a change of plans from his initial vow to endorse the DP.
