Deputy President William Ruto has yet again hit back at his critics over corruption allegations, insisting that he has never obtained more through fraud.

In an interview at Kameme FM on Thursday, Ruto dismissed graft allegations levelled against him, adding that those with evidence should come out and report him.

"Nani ashawahi poteza pesa akazipata kwa banki yangu? Kama kunayo, acha ajitokeze." (Who had ever lost money and found it in my bank account? If there is someone, let him come out).

But the remarks did not go well Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu, who has been in the frontline questioning the DP's integrity. On his Facebook, Wambugu termed the remarks as reckless.

"This is such an arrogant statement. It’s right up there with ‘mta do?’ And it’s just the kind of statement anyone else suspected of stealing public funds will now be happy to use ... moving forward," Wambugu said.

Dr Ruto has previously denied claims that he's been involved in corruption. He accuses his critics of being irrational in the war against corruption, which he says targets his 2022 presidential bid.

During Thursday's interview, Ruto also vowed to continue with his trips across the country. He said they are anchored in the development agenda and not President Uhuru Kenyatta's succession battle.

"We do not know when Jesus will return, but as Christians, we are preparing, why should we not prepare for the 2nd Tuesday of August 2022 election date whose timing we know," he said in defence of the trips.
