Controversial Kenyan gospel singer Willy Paul has been voted as the second most popular artiste in Tanzania after bongo star Diamond Platinumz.

The ‘Hallelujah’ hitmaker took to Instagram to share the good news and also appreciate his Tanzanian fans for the support they have given him.

“Thank you for this love Tanzania and Kenya.. let's keep pushing and we will get there soon,” part of his post on Instagram read.

Willy Paul who has always been in love with ‘bongo’ as a genre of music, has been keen on collaborating with Tanzanian artists on most of his music projects. This year alone, he has released two major songs featuring Tanzanian top singers.

The first song titled ‘Mmmh’  in which he featured Rayvanny attracted more than 5.6 million views on YouTube while the second song titled ‘Hallelujah' featuring Nandy got 3.5 million views. Last year he also released a song featuring Harmonize.

Willy Paul also urged Kenyans to be more supportive of their own artists.

“KENYA, ALL AN ARTIST NEEDS FROM YOU IS SUPPORT. SUPPORT UR OWN.. LOOK AT THIS..,“ he added.
