The son of Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya, is this year's best KCPE pupil in whole of the Coast region.
Hassan Wanini Mvurya, from Likunda primary school in Ukunda floored all candidates in Kwale and the rest of other five Coastal counties by scoring 440 marks out of 500.
On Tuesday morning, the father congratulated him saying: "Congratulations son for emerging best in Coast region."
Several schools in Mombasa excelled by producing best results as the Cabinet Secretary of Education Amina Mohammed released the examination results alongside Kenya National Examination Council (Knec) bosses from Mombasa on Monday.
The Mombasa schools which topped include; Light Academy, Busy Bee Academy, Aga Khan Primary, Sheikh Zayed Primary, St Kevin Schools, Memon Academy, and Nyali Primary School.
In Kilifi County, Mtwapa Elite Academy Kilifi and Dzikunze Primary excelled.
Mwatate Junior School excelled in Taita Taveta County while Bethany Academy excelled in Kwale County as well.
Governor Mvurya also congratulated Kwale schools and candidates, saying: "Congratulations to all Kwale students who have Excelled, making our county proud. Indeed commitment, hardwork and discipline yield exemplary results."
Nationally, Rawlings Odhiambo of Kakamega Hill School in Kakamega County and Olive Mwea Wachira of Riara Road Primary in Nairobi County scored 453 marks becoming top candidates.
During the 2017 KCPE, Goldalyn Kakuya of St Anne’s Junior School, Lubao, in Kakamega County topped the nation by scoring 455 marks.
