A section of leaders from Nyanza have been excited by Deputy President William Ruto's suggestion that he does not hold grudge with ODM leader Raila Odinga.
In an interview with NTV on Sunday, Ruto, Raila's ally cum critic, dismissed media reports that he is uncomfortable with the ODM leader.
"It is a misconception to create imaginary differences between Raila and I. We have worked together before and I am ready for partnership with him.
"In fact, we are already working together under the leadership of Uhuru Kenyatta. I do not have any differences with him unless the ones created by the media," he said.
ODM treasurer Timothy Bosire now says there will be noting wrong if the two leaders unite ahead of 2022 polls.
"Politics is dynamic in nature and I don't see anything wrong in Ruto's suggestion. He is always welcome back to his ODM party," he said.
Nyamira ODM chairman Richard Kaka added: "He was among those who started ODM and it will be good gesture for him to work with party leader. We are ready all the time to invite him."
His remarks about Raila comes at a time when Jubilee party is reportedly facing internal wrangles which pundits claims could lead to the DP's exit.
Back in 2007, Ruto was among pioneers of the ODM party before making dramatic exit in 2012 following differences with Raila.
