Although Ruto maintains that he will be the first to be audited, a section of his allies led by Kipchumba Murkomen have openly questioned the motive behind the audit.

Speaking at Eldoret after Appeals Court reinstated him as MP, Keter seemed to suggest albeit indirectly that Ruto was afraid of the process.

"If I say I am ready for lifestyle audit, I will not allow my sycophants to oppose my stand. That will be equivalent to lying.

"The best thing I would do is by openly rebuking them and asking them to spare my name," said Keter.

His sentiments were backed by Moiben's Silas Tiren, who demanded that the DP should openly scold his allies opposing lifestyle audit.

While appearing on Citizen TV coupe of weeks ago, Murkomen linked the audit to a section of individuals at OP who he claims are determined to block Ruto's bid in 2022.
