Nominated MCA Irene Sese has dispelled fears that her impeachment motion against Education minister Gladys Momanyi will be defeated in the assembly.
On Monday, Ms Sese issued a notice of motion in a Special Sitting called by Speaker Moffat Teya, and MCAs will vote for or against the motion on June 3rd when the assembly resumes.
Addressing journalists after the sitting on Monday, the Jubilee legislator said she has mobilised MCAs to back her motion in which she accuses the minister of abuse of office and gross misconduct.
"I have mibilised my colleagues and we have numbers. We have evidence and every MCA is satisfied with the preparations. We must bring sanity in our county," she said.
Ms Sese added: "Most of the details will be made public when we discuss in June. For now just stick to gross misconduct and abuse of office. She won't make it."
Mrs Momanyi will be the second minister to face ouster motion after her colleague Bernard Osumo of Public Administration. Mr Osumo however, managed to block the assembly from discussing him through a Labour Relations Court in Kisumu.
Over the weekend, Momanyi said she's ready to face the MCAs in the assembly. She denied misappropriating funds throughout her tenure in office.
"I am ready to face them. It's pure witch-hunt but we shall overcome. Nobody will intimidate us. I am focused and will continue discharging my duties."
