It is the dream of every Pastor to persuade individuals to ‘see the light’ and get saved.
Men of the Cloth believe in leading masses into salvation in order for them to witness eternal life later on.
However, faithful at the Victory World Outreach Kisumu on Sunday looked surprised after their Pastor prayed to God to save popular Ohangla musician Osogo Winyo.
Pastor Patrick Ominde prayed that God saves the musician so that Christians stop dancing to his popular Ohangla tunes.
“Father God, if it is your will let this man be saved so that he can sing for you,” the Pastor made the short prayer which was accompanied by a louder Amen from faithful who had attended the Sunday service.
The Pastor was giving a sermon on Hindrances of Prayer derived from Isaiah 40:29-31 which reads “He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even the youth grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
Osogo Winyo whose really name is John Okinyi is popular in Luo Nyanza due to his hit songs such as Angengo, Nyaugenya, Nyar Jobondo and Dichol mar Gem among others.
