A former Senator has offered to give President Uhuru Kenyatta a gift for his bold decision to fight corruption.
Boni Khalwale, former Kakamega Senator said on Sunday he is ready to give the President a goat as a gift as he continues to fight graft, a vice he says has cost the Kenyan taxpayer billions of money.
"Mr President, where do I deliver your Imbuli/Imbusi (goat)? Through State House Spokesperson Kanze Dena?" Khalwale said in a tweet in response to Uhuru's revelation that he has lost many friends in the recent days over his boldness in the fight against corruption.
Uhuru who on Sunday spoke at the Faith Evangelistic Ministries church in Karen Nairobi had said that most of his close friends had left him as the noose tightens on corrupt individuals in the country.
Khalwale said he fully supports Uhuru's initiative to end graft.
"You know something? Am starting to believe that Uhuru Kenyatta is serious about fighting corruption! Go go go, Mr President," he added in a separate tweet.
The fight against graft has been intensifying with high profile personalities arrested and detained in the recent weeks.
Among those so far arrested are former Nairobi Governor Dr Evans Kidero, National Land Commission Chairman Muhammad Swazuri, and Kenya Railways Managing Director Atanas Maina.
