West Pokot governor Prof John Lonyang'apuo disassociated himself from 'Tanga Tanga' and 'Kieleweke' politics, arguing that it was time to work for the electorate.
Citizen TV aired and shared a live interview with the governor on Wednesday night on their official Facebook page.
When Jeff Koinange sought to know which candidate the governor would support for president in 2022. His response was candid. He wondered how such debate could be brought up at such a time, while the country had more than three years to the next general elections in 2022.
Lonyang'apuo noted that the future was still uncertain and it would be unrealistic to plan for it then, since no one knew what it held. He opined that Kenyans should not start doing politics, yet they had elected leaders already.
"This is June 2019. We finished the elections and got our president in November 2017. We are just short of five months before he (the president) hits his two-year term, meaning we have just almost three years to go," noted Lonyang'apuo.
"What country or what type of human being can dare imagine that you can talk about the future vigorously the way I have been watching, as though we have no president, we have got no leadership or this country had not been run? We are joking. We are joking and we must bring that debate to an end with an immediate effect," remarked the governor.
He rubbished 'Tanga Tanga' and 'Kieleweke' political factions in Jubilee while observing that he had no time for them, adding that politics should come to an end.
He further said, "When do I have the luxury to say ‘inaeleweka’ or 'inatangatanga'?To me, we should stop the politicking."
The vocal governor said the politicking factions were associated with Jubilee and they were bad for such a party with a national outlook.
