Former Kakamega Senator Bonnie Khalwale now accuses President Uhuru Kenyatta of being selective in the fight against graft, insisting that he's using the war to victimise innocent people.

In a video circulating on social media, the former Ikolomani MP also says President Uhuru has ill motives against the Luhya community, citing former Sports Minister Rashid Echesa as an example.

Mr Echesa was sacked two weeks ago in a special gazette notice even though State House did not state reasons why he was relieved off his duties. Ms Amina Mohammed replaced him in the ministry.

"We shouldn't have been having a problem if Echesa had stolen money. His ministry was not linked to any scandal. Do not hide in witch-hunt to punish innocent people," he said over the weekend.

Khalwale added: "Why haven't you sacked Mwangi Kiunjuri, whose ministry has been linked to maize scandal? Why haven't you sacked Samson Chelgui whose ministry has been linked to several multimillion scandals? Why haven't you sacked Cecily Kariuki from Health? Why Echesa?

Until now, no official communication from State House that states why the youthful minister was sacked. Apparently, even his friend, DP William Ruto, has remained mum over the matter.

For Kiunjuri, he has been handling a scandal where billions of money was paid to pseudo maize farmers, a move that angered Uhuru. Also, Ms Kariuki was in charge of  Public Service and Youths when the first NYS scandal was reported.

On Monday, DCI George Kinoti summoned Water minister Samson Chelgui to shade light in Sh21 billion dams scandal that also saw Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich grilled last week.
