Former Embakasi South MP Julius Mawathe has been issued a direct Wiper party ticket.
The Wiper leadership headed by its party leader Kalonzo Musyoka issued Musili with the certificate to contest for the forthcoming Embakasi South parliamentary by-election on Tuesday.
Speaking during the certificate issuance event organized by Wiper party National Elections Executive Board at the party's head office in Nairobi, Kalonzo said Mawathe is the only person who can lead Embakasi South with dignity and transparency.
"I want to acknowledge that it's only Mawathe who can make Embakasi South great again," Kalonzo said.
The former Vice President said Wiper has only one seat in Nairobi County and urged their ODM 'brothers' to let him retain the seat.
"The only seat which Wiper has in Nairobi is that of Embakasi South, I am calling on my ODM brothers to let Wiper retain this seat if the coalition means business," he said.
Mawathe's election was nullified by the Supreme Court citing irregularities in the seat's August 8, 2017 polls.
