The county boss, while addressing members of the press on Tuesday in Nyamira, reiterated that the government has not legalized FGM.

He assured that local chiefs are vigilant in deep villages to report anyone conducting the outlawed practice on girls.

"FGM is illegal and punishable by the law. Anyone who will be caught conducting the exercise will face the law. Chiefs condoning parents to practice the illegal exercise in their areas of jurisdiction will be sacked and prosecuted," he said.

Nakoru confirmed that security will be tight in Nyamira during the Christmas celebrations.

"Underage children should not be admitted to night clubs, alcohol selling joints and night discos. Police will keep watch to ensure no school going children is condoned at discos," said the commissioner.

He also warned local illicit brewers against making and selling chang'aa which the government declared illegal.

According to the Nakoru, he won't lose his job because of some individuals engaging in illegal businesses in the county.
