Deputy President William Ruto on Friday toured Fafi Constituency to preside over a funds drive in aid of Madarasa schools at a function held in Bura Town.
During the visit, Ruto proceeded to the offices of Fafi Youth Empowerment Organization where he donated a cool Sh500,000 to the youths.
This, he said, would boost youth programs in the region that has high unemployment rates.
Addressing residents in Bura Town, DP Ruto further assured Garissa residents that the national government was fully committed to addressing their needs including infrastructural development to open up the region to more investors.
Citing the case of Modikar-Dadaab-Liboi Road, Ruto disclosed that the road is set for tarmacking in the next financial year.
"We shall factor the tarmacking of Mokidar-Dadaab-Liboi the coming financial year. I can assure you that the major roads will soon be tarmacked," the DP assured.
Ruto also disclosed plans to put up a vocational and technical training college in Bura Town at a cost of sh100 million.
