A funeral on Friday came to stand still at Nyabisabo village in Ibeno Nyaribari Chache constituency, Kisii County after two men clashed over a woman.
Mike Osoti has been married to Clare Nyanchama for the last eight years and they have four children together.
However, Nyanchama eloped with another man identified as Lewis Oroo.
Ibeno chief Henry Nyang'au confirmed the incident saying the men met at the burial of Nyanchama's mother.
"Osoti was left with the children after Nyanchama eloped with Oroo. Nyanchama's mother died and the men showed up a the funeral to condole with their wife," said the chief.
He said Osoti had paid the dowry to the woman's family while Oroo rented a house in Keumbu where they have been living.
"Osoti spotted Oroo seated next to Nyanchama and got angered. He descended on Oroo with kicks and blows bringing the burial to a stand still before other mourners intervened," he said.
"Mourners ordered the woman to return to her former husband immediately to take care of the kids," added Nyang'au.
After the drama, the funeral proceeded as Oroo was chased from the funeral and warned against being seen near Nyanchama.
