During a function in Kiambu county this year, Governor Ferdinard Waititu warned Deputy President William Ruto against closing his eyes when they are told to pray because a 'mchoraji' had joined the government.
Apparently, Waititu was telling Ruto to stay alert over his 2022 presidential bid after President Uhuru Kenyatta made peace with Raila Odinga.
Waititu insinuated that Raila joining the government should worry the DP and his presidential ambition.
"Wewe ukienda mahali uambiwe funga macho tuombe, usifunge," Waititu said amid a laughter from the crowd.
It seems Ruto took the advise literally as a photo of him in church while remaining 'alert' has surfaced on social media.
In the photo, President Uhuru Kenyatta, Rachel Ruto, Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja among other leaders are seen with eyes closed during a prayer.
For Ruto however, he followed Waititu's raw advice, haha!
