A section of Eldoret town residents has raised concerns as Uasin Gishu County Hospital finds itself on the spot over poor disposal of used syringes which can be harmful to both human life and the environment.
Exposing the unhygienic incident, a popular Eldoret Facebook user Emmanuel Lemiso Sato shared photos of used syringes which had been disposed behind the hospital, around the neighbouring Zion Mall.
Sato called for an appropriate method of disposing of the wastes.
“Behind Uasin Gishu County Hospital and opposite Zion Mall. Used syringes dumped carelessly. Is there no safe place to dispose such waste? This is hazardous," he posted on his Facebook account.
Majority of residents on Facebook who reacted to the post expressed their disappointment over the matter as they also called for the hospital and the relevant authorities to take the appropriate actions.
The Facebook users noted that as what was being witnessed was dangerous and that the hospital should look for the appropriate means to dispose of such wastes.
