The deceased was a pupil at Larmudiac primary school. Neighbours said the pupil died after she was reportedly beaten by her elder brother.

The neighbours got concerned when they could not see the girl around and demanded to know on her whereabouts.

When they stormed the home, the girl’s parents feigned ignorance of anything and the angry neighbours were shocked to find the lifeless body of the child in bed.

The parents were comfortably taking lunch despite the child having died.

No reports had been made to area chief or police.DCI officers from Njoro arrived at the scene and took the body to Egerton university funeral home.

They also arrested the girl’s parents.

The brother, who is said to be a mitumba trader, is still at large and police have launched a manhunt for him.

Njoro OCPD Charity Wangui said that investigations are underway in order to unearth what really transpired.
