The ongoing purge by Twitter of fake followers on its platform has not spared controversial blogger and socio-political commentator Cyprian Nyakundi.
Hardly weeks ago, Nyakundi boasted of over a million followers.
A random check of his account today will hit you with a stark reality, that number has gone down significantly as he now has around six hundred thousand followers, meaning he has lost hundreds of thousands of followers.
Here is what Garissa residents on social media had to say about the development:
"I hope that humbles him. Twitter is not everything in life,'' Hasheem Bakri said.
"So he was boasting about fake followers. I can't stop laughing," Hulughe Buno said.
"Twitter is doing a very good job. Only genuine followers should be allowed on its platform," Godana Nadhif said.
"That's a big blow to his ego," Sayed Dhadho said.
"I could not believe it when I saw it. The reduction is very significant, hundreds of thousands of followers," Jamal Abdi said.
