At least five influencial politicians from Nyamira and Kisii Counties are conspicuously missing from Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 campaign team, it has emerged.
Instead, Ruto recruited a more youthful team as he focuses of reclaiming the region which has traditionally voted for opposition leader Raila Odinga.
Top among in the team are Sylvanus Osoro, Richard Onyonka, Joash Nyamoko, Shadrack Mose and George Mosiori.
But it's the omission of Chris Obure, Charles Nyachae and Jimmy Angwenyi from Kisii County which might raise questions in the near future.
The three campaigned for Jubilee party last year and were subsequently rewarded by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
In Nyamira, veteran politician Walter Nyambati and Joseph Kiangoi are missing from Ruto's list.
The new team has held several campaigns in the region some of which have been attended by Ruto.
Some of their strategies include doing harambees in churches , villages and funerals along with initiating development projects.
