Political analyst and city lawyer Brian Weke has faulted Elgeyo Marakwer Senator Kipchumba Murkomen over his recent remarks on the dams scandal.
This comes after Murkomen defended the Kimwarer and Arror dam projects during an interview on Citizen TV on Thursday.
Speaking during an interview on Radio Jambo's Mazungumzo Waziwazi show on Saturday morning, Weke hit out at Murkomen for siding with the people accused of victimising his constituents.
He argued that at no point are leaders seen to do that, adding that Murkomen is a very unique person as he is defending a graft scandal instead of his people.
"I have never seen a leader or politician siding with any contractor. Murkomen is the first one and that makes him very unique," said Weke.
He told off the Senate Majority Leader, noting that his job as the people's representative should be to question the progress and monies used or lost in the construction.
"He should instead be on the contractor's neck demanding questions and not on the firm's side," he added.
In the interview, Murkomen reiterated Deputy President William Ruto's remarks that only Sh7 billion has been paid for the dam projects, both of which are in Elgeyo Marakwet County.
He rubbished claims that Sh21 billion has been lost, maintaining that the Sh7 billion paid to Italian firm CMC Di Ravenna can be accounted for.
