For close to ten months, Ruto has intensified the race to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta, with the later recently giving an indication that he may not support him after all.

"Do not take my silence for granted. When the right time comes, I will speak and show you the direction. My choice may even shock you," Uhuru said in Nyeri.

At the same trip, Uhuru scolded Mt Kenya legislators 'loitering' around, with sources revealing that he scolded Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungwah, who has been leading pro-Ruto camp in Mt Kenya.

And for Kabogo, it will be difficult for someone who has served in the system to win presidency, 'just like in the past'.

"During change of guard (after completion of the term of a sitting president the incoming president must come from outside to get to power. To climb to power from within(VP/DP) happened only once when Mzee Moi succeeded Hayati Mzee Jomo Kenyatta. Hustler think!" he told Ruto. https://twitter.com/honkabogo/status/1058452641431384064?s=19.

ODM leader Raila Odinga, who was recently appointed as High Representative for Infrastructural Development to AU, gave an indication on Friday that he could try the fifth stab on presidency.

But Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen maintains that Uhuru will 'shock' Kenyans by sticking to DP Ruto.

"They are working well. You will be surprised to see them sticking together. They are an item and that's the reality."
