Deputy President William Ruto, should things remain in their current state, will be the most unwelcome visitor in Luo Nyanza region upon the open of the 2022 general elections campaigns.

He will have it hard touring the region for his campaigns and will have it even harder getting the area’s backing as he seeks to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Though he has been a really cool guy lately and has dropped his earlier character where he made insulting opposition leader Raila Odinga a habit, he should not expect anything good from the entire Luo Nyanza region.

Considering that Odinga is the ultimate political don in the lucrative vote basket, Ruto’s silence as his allies continue firing shots, demonizing and calling the former Prime Minister names will see him held responsible when the time comes.

As a result, he is likely to be met with animosity in his campaigns and could end up being heckled by the people who also to a large extent link him to the alleged rigging out of Odinga in the 2013 and 2017 presidential races.

This will worsen should Odinga take another shot at the Presidency, meaning that the two will face off in the ballot, as this will make him more unwanted being Odinga’s main threat.

About the votes, the DP should expect nothing and can be sure that the region will give him the fewest votes in the entire republic.  Nothing can save him from the pending humiliation except Odinga himself.
