As insecurity soars in certain areas of Nakuru, there are some estates where residents live in peace.

Trying to stage a theft in such estates would be akin to courting death.

1. Kasarani Estate

Located towards the western side of Nakuru CBD, Kasarani is one of the residential areas where thieves and burglars are unheard of.

This is because it houses top police officials and has a police post.

2. Kona Tatu

Kona Tatu Estate was originally part of the larger Bondeni Estate within Nakuru's Biashara Ward.

Sitting on a one or two-acre piece of land, most houses in this area are made of mud, landing it in the bracket of low-end estates.

Courtesy of this, it becomes rather unrealistic for criminals to prey on its residents, as it becomes quite hard getting anything worth stealing.

It also has an Administration Police camp.

3. Kaloleni C Estate

It is the most luxurious among the three Kaloleni estate sub-divisions (A, B and C) owned by the Nakuru County Government.

Comprising of gated homes on the secluded hilly side of the southern end of Nakuru town, it is very rare to hear any insecurity complaints.

The safety can partly be attributed to its closeness to the Kenya Wildlife Services (KWS) rangers homes.
