Former Kakamega senator Boni Khalwalwe seems to have dedicated much of his time on social media particularly Twitter and has turned into a great character in the arena with lots of controversial posts, daily.
On Wednesday evening, Khalwalwe took a swipe at Amani National Congress party leader Musalia Mudavadi who was in Nyeri accompanied by a group that Khalwalwe referred to as "only Luhyas."
Through his twitter account, Khalwalwe wondered why Mudavadi was accompanied by people from Mulembe nation yet he is a prominent politician in the country with friends across the board.
In his post, Khalwalwe insinuates that Mudavadi had been abandoned by his political friends from the region who have been proposing him as a better successor of president Uhuru Kenyatta compared to Deputy President William Ruto.
"Even if Mt. Kenya leaders were too busy, committed elsewhere, where was David Murathe?" Read part of his tweet.
According to the Khalwalwe, the photo portrays Mudavadi as an alienated leader who has no support of the local leaders from Mt. Kenya region despite the likes of David Murathe preferring him over DP Ruto.
Khalwalwe who was Mudavadi's right-hand man during the 2013 general elections where the ANC leader contested for presidential seat, has now turned into DP Ruto's campaign machinery taking on all those who stand on his way.
Mudavadi who is strategically positioning himself for a contest in 2022 is likely to be one of Ruto's opponents and Khalwalwe seems prepared to counter him from the onset.
The radical and defiant Ford Kenya deputy party leader has turned into a vicious critic Mudavadi in the recent past particularly after efforts to lure him into forming a coalition with DP Ruto faced resistance.
