The vocal local politician termed Wangeci's murder as a blow to young ladies.

"I am still shocked that Ivy Wangeci was murdered in broad daylight by a boyfriend because of love. Her dead should teach beautiful young ladies in campus a lesson not to date men before conducting a thorough background check," Motari told Hivisasa during an interview in Kisii town on Wednesday.

He said should Ivy's boyfriend survive the injuries inflicted on him by angry members of the public, he should be sent to Kamiti prison.

Motari challenged young men in love relationships to accept when the ladies walk away.

"My advice to men dating ladies is that they must accept when the ladies move on. Killing ladies like Ivy should not be condoned," he added.

The youth leader further wondered why Ivy's boyfriend could travel all the way from Thika to Eldoret only to commit such a heinous act.

He also challenged parents to advise their children accordingly to curb similar incidences in future.
