The saga involves the two dams which are set to be constructed in Elgeyo Marakwet county and is said to have cost the taxpayer about Sh21 billion.

Miguna is now claiming that Uhuru falls right in the middle of the scandal, being the appointing authority that picked officers serving in the specific ministry.

In a tweet Tuesday, the former Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant wondered why Uhuru is yet to sack the Water and Irrigation Cabinet and Principal Secretaries.

He found it rather questionable and suspicious that the president is also yet to order for the arrest and prosecution of the involved officials.

"Let me ask this question that has not been addressed in the so-called 'Dam Scandal': Uhuru Kenyatta appointed the Cabinet Secretary, Principal Secretary and Director for Water, so why has he not fired them and ordered his handpicked DCI Kinoti and Noordin Haji to arrest them?" posed the firebrand politician.

This comes at a time when the scandal seems to have landed at the doorstep of Deputy President William Ruto who has been very vocal about the matter alongside his lieutenants.

A section of Ruto's allies has termed the scandal as one of the techniques being used to paint him corrupt with an aim of locking him off the presidency in the 2022 general elections.
