Former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama has asked politicians allied to rival Jubilee party teams 'Tanga Tanga' and 'kieleweke' to calm down.
In an exclusive phone interview with hivisasa.com on Tuesday, Muthama said that the two groups are engaging in unnecessary political debate creating anxiety in the country.
According to Muthama, the two groups are also perpetuating tribal politics which he warns could compromise on the country's unity.
The former Senator said that Kenyans are not interested in premature succession campaigns.
"These people should stop premature debates and concentrate on their work as elected leaders instead of creating confusion in the country," he said.
Muthama further said that some of the sentiments being made by politicians in the two rival groups pose a serious threat to the country's security.
"Kenyans are concerned with serious issues facing them and it is time for Tanga Tanga and Kieleweke to read the mood and abandon premature debates," he noted.
Politicians allied to Tanga Tanga and Kieleweke have been engaging in a heated debate over 2022 succession politics.
Tanga Tanga is supporting Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 presidential ambition while Kielewke, on the other hand, is against the DP Ruto's ambition.
