In his speech during a funeral service at Kabarak University grounds, Ruto advised Sylvia to follow the footsteps of his late husband who was a farmer to earn a living for her family.

He said that it has been proven that farming pays very well.

The DP also urged the widow to take advantage of farming to support her children noting that Jonathan thrived in the field of dairy, maize and poultry.

He further assured the widow that the government will not abandon her during this hard times after the husband died following a long battle with cancer

"We want to support as government people like mama Sylvia and your family to get better returns from farming. I am saying this because we are sending off a man who distinguished himself as a farmer,"  Ruto said during the service.
