Since the Ekeza Sacco scam came into the limelight a month ago, the man at the centre of it Bishop David Kariuki Ngari alias Gakuyo has been in the eye of a storm.
Gakuyo who is the Sacco's founder has had to endure a flawed reputation of a rogue bishop, a shepherd who feeds on his flock, fraudster just to name but a few.
Gakuyo who is also the founder of the Thika-based church, Calvary Chosen Centre, is alleged to have swindled the Sacco members over Sh1.5 billion according to an inquiry report conducted on the Sacco.
As if this is not enough, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations through a press release issued on Tuesday, confirmed receiving numerous fraud complaints against two other firms associated with the embattled bishop.
The two outfits are Gakuyo Real Estate and Gakuyo Investment Club.
It is, however, interesting to note the drama that the Sacco scandal has come along with since it came to the limelight.
It has tainted Gakuyo's previously unblemished reputation of a 'Man of God' and a 'wise investor'.

1. Disgruntled Ekeza Sacco members storm Gakuyo's church
Two weeks ago, irate Ekeza Sacco members stormed Gakuyo's Calvary Chosen Centre while the church was still session.
The members hounded the bishop from the church hall demanding that he refunds them their lost money.
This was not only shameful considering it happened in front of his church followers, but it was also a huge compromise to his moral standing as a 'Servant of God'.
2. Interior CS Fred Matiang'i' claims that the bishop was dodging police arrest
Matiang'i while speaking during the Kenya Police Sacco Annual Delegates Conference in Nairobi last week announced that detectives were in hot pursuit of Gakuyo who had gone into hiding.
“We are going to do everything it takes to punish those misusing resources. There is nowhere to hide. We are hot on the trail of officials of Ekeza and others,” Matiang’i said, leading Gakuyo to present himself at the DCI Headquarters the following day accompanied by a battery of lawyers.
This claim only served to accelerate the perception that the bishop is indeed rogue and a shameless fraudster.
3. Beating up of his lawyer at Milimani Law Courts
Gakuyo's lawyer (Samuel Mburu) representing Ekeza Sacco was on Thursday beaten up by irate Sacco members outside the court buildings over what they said was ridiculing them by contradicting their submissions in court.
This rare incidence was just a confirmation of the Sacco members' frustrations and the burning anger they harbour against the controversial preacher.
