Nairobi county Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Chairman George Aladwa has once again rubbished claims that the party is plotting a collapse of the ruling Jubilee Party.
The party has been repeatedly accused of such plans by Deputy President William Ruto's faction of Jubilee after its (ODM) leader Raila Odinga's 2018 truce with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Ruto and team have claimed that Raila is trying to shake the party from within, with an intention of bringing it to the ground and consequently paralyze the DP's 2022 presidential ambitions.
Speaking on Tuesday, the Makadara lawmaker and close ally of the former Premier insisted that Raila is not involved in such plans, as he has no issues with Ruto's dreams for the top slot.
"Raila hana shida na Ruto na kampeni zake. Na hata kama angekuwa na shida, anajua vyema kwamba ni wananchi ndio watakaopiga kura (Raila has no interest in Ruto's issues, its Kenyans who will vote anyway)," said the vocal MP.
He was speaking on Radio Maisha's Bunge La Maisha on Tuesday morning.
He advised the DP against his unending attacks on Raila and the ODM party, cautioning him against picking fights with people and parties on the basis of mere suspicion.
Aladwa said that Ruto's readiness to attack might render him all alone at the end of the day, and send away even people who could be of help to him come 2022.
"Huenda hata ODM tuko na mipango mizuri na yeye lakini anatufukuza. Aongee vizuri na sisi (let him be polite to us as ODM, we might be having good intentions with him)," he added.
