Having tasted defeat in the Kenya Premier League (KPL) for the first time less than a week ago, Gor Mahia responded immediately with a 2-1 win over Posta Rangers in a KPL match played at the Moi Stadium Kisumu on Friday.
On Tuesday, Kogallo went down 1-2 against hosts Bandari FC in a Premier League encounter at the Mbaraki Stadium, in Mombasa.
It was the first game for Gor Mahia to lose in the League or any other competitive match on Kenyan soil this year.
On Friday in Kisumu, the Dylan Kerr led side put behind the woes in Mombasa to register a 2-1 win over Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo’s Rangers to put the hunt for a record 17th KPL title back on track.
Jacques Tuyisenge and Francis Kahata scored for Gor, while Calvin Odongo pulled one back for Rangers.
The team now leads the KPL standings with 59 points from 24 matches, having won 18, drawn 5 and lost a single match.
The defending Champions are 14 points clear of second-placed Bandari FC, with two games at hand.
On the flipside, Posta Rangers remain 10th on the log with 31 points arising from 25 matches; seven wins, 10 draws and 7 defeats.
Bandari next faces Tusker FC on Sunday, while Gor Mahia next plays Kakamega Homeboyz on Monday.
