In a tweet on Sunday, Miguna claimed that Atwoli has nothing to show for his long stay at the helm of the organization, hence the continuation of workers' woes and unsolved shortcomings.

The embattled lawyer downplayed Atwoli's performance, terming him a failure who has been unable to transform the lives of the people who elected him to lead them.

He claimed that instead of fighting for better lives and working conditions for the workers, Atwoli has fully concentrated on his own well being, and has gone ahead to among others build himself mansions and acquire choppers.

"Atwoli is a trade unionist who main duty is the improvement of workers' conditions; wages, allowances, housing, healthcare and working conditions," he said in part.

"However, while Atwoli has 2 fixed-wing planes, 2 helicopters, mansions everywhere and flower farms, Kenyan workers are starving to death," he claimed.

Atwoli is serving his fourth term at the helm of the organization, after succeeding the late Joseph Joy Mugalla in 2001.

He becomes Miguna's newest victim after President Uhuru Kenyatta, his deputy William Ruto and opposition leader Raila Odinga, who have been receiving regular bashings from the former Nairobi gubernatorial hopeful.
