On March 4, 2017, a rumor went round that Ukambani's political kingpin Kalonzo Musyoka held several secrets in foreign nations where he transacted millions of shillings.
The former Vice President came out and denied the allegations leveled against him.
He termed the claims as malicious and aimed at spoiling his name as he sought to support former Prime Minister Raila Odinga ascend to power.
Kalonzo said the claims were being spread by the Jubilee politicians after his Kalonzo Musyoka Foundation was put on the spot for allegedly engaging in unlawful activities.
More than 2,000 students from different parts of the nation have benefited from the Foundation if Kalonzo‘s remarks are anything to go by.
“These people have just realised that Kalonzo is becoming more and more popular. This is just a strategy to derail my chances to be the NASA's presidential candidate. It is bound to fail,” Kalonzo said.
“To prove their mischief, Jubilee decided to send the false report to the media to ensure bad publicity, instead of the procedural process of serving the affected party first,” he said.
Kalonzo has since expressed interest of becoming the Kenyan president come 2022.
