What remains unclear is why the CS was the only one who was sent home even after President Uhuru Kenyatta declared to crack the whip on all corrupt members in his team.

Echesa could have been fired over his possible links to the suspects in the Sh 32 billion fake currency seizure in Ruiru, Kiambu county, Standard reports.

The money, which has been linked to Uhuru's impersonators, was discovered stashed in boxes near the Kamaki’s area. Police swung into action and arrested three suspects.

The arrest of the three came after police embarked on a probe to determine the circumstances behind the robbing of tycoon Naushad Merali of Sh 10 million.

The security officers arrested Joseph Waswa, David Luganya, Gilbert Kirunja Isaac Wanyonyi, William Simiyu, Duncan Muchai and Anthony Wafula in connection with the robbery.

Echesa, who dared Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga to sack him,  is yet to speak on the matter after he was sent packing. Other sources indicate that Achesa was fired because of his poor performance.

In August last year, President Uhuru Kenyatta lost his cool and warned him in public after it emerged that the Former Vice President the late Jaramogi Oginga Odinga’s mausoleum was in a pathetic state yet it fell under his ministry.

The CS, who is a close ally of Deputy President William Ruto could also have been sacked because of premature campaigns and endless attacks on Raila.
