Machakos Government is committed to providing tap water to every household in all the nine sub-counties by 2022.
This is according to Governor Alfred Mutua who said his government has set good plans to ensure that issue of water shortage in the Machakos County is put in historical books by the time his term expires.
"By God’s grace, by the time my term in Machakos is over in 2022 before I progress to a higher office, the story of lack of water in Machakos County will have been relegated to the books of history," Mutua posted on his Facebook page on Tuesday.
Mutua posted this on his official Facebook page soon after he launched the drilling of 24 new boreholes in the County.
"The plan is that by the next few years, all of Machakos County’s 320,000 households will have tap water. This is a plan I am committed to," he noted.
He said the county will soon be celebrating 500 new solar-powered boreholes that did not exist before devolution took effect, bearing in mind that he has been the Machakos governor since 2013.

Mutua said his administration is committed to ensuring that each village in the county has at least a borehole.
"Our target is 1,000 boreholes or a borehole per village in Machakos County," Mutua said.
