Kenyans on Twitter have expressed mixed reactions after a photo of Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso at a UK hospital went viral.
In the photo, ODM leader Raila Odinga is seen with Kenya’s High Commissioner to the U.K Manoah Esipisu who had paid a visit to the hospitalized Governor. The governor has been ailing for a while and is taking a one-month medical leave for treatment.
Kenyans faulted the governor for not seeking medical attention in local health facilities. They argued that Kenyan leaders had terribly failed in improving the health care sector despite having huge budget allocations.
However, a section of Kenyans said that it was a bias for trolling Bomet Governor while in the past, Kibra MP Ken Okoth was wished a quick recovery. Okoth has been in France receiving treatment for cancer.
In 2016, former Bomet Governor Issac Ruto also went for treatment in South Africa after a teargas canister hurled by a police officer hit him on the face. He was hit below his right eye.
This didn't augur well with most Kenyans who faulted him for seeking specialised treatment outside the country.
