Emerging details now indicate that President Uhuru Kenyatta's presence at the Moi Sports Center Kasarani Indoor Arena on Sunday was most probably on an invitation.

According to Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot, though Uhuru continued to dominate the Akorino religious sect function, he was just a guest like all the remaining leaders.

Speaking on Tuesday, Cheruiyot said that the function was organized by Deputy President William Ruto and leaders of the sect.

"This was his (the DP) meeting, he planned it with the leadership of the Akorino church," he said on NTV's AM Live on Tuesday.

It is at the function that Uhuru read the riot act to some Jubilee MPs whom he claimed have been busy insulting him after hanging on his name to secure their seats in the previous elections.

He accused the unnamed MPs of using their positions to organize rallies and engaging in early politicking, challenging them to serve their people first.

Leaders present at the function included area Governor Mike Sonko, Homa Bay Woman Representative Gladys Wanga and MPs Kimani Ichungwa (Kikuyu) and Ndindi Nyoro (Kiharu).

A section of the MPs allied to Ruto, and who have been seen politicking lately, on Monday responded to him from Nakuru, criticizing Uhuru's attacks on them.

Led by Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri who hosted the team for the burial of his brother in Bahati, the group urged the Jubilee party leader to seek better ways of addressing party issues.
