2019 is here, and we need not repeat the money mistakes we made in 2018.
In this article, I will take you through some of the common but avoidable money mistakes you should avoid in 2019;
1. Spending above your standards
This is the most common mistake people make; spending above their income standard.
As we slide into 2019, you should learn to spend according to what you earn.
Make sure every purchase you make or anything you spend your money on is relative to your earnings.
Live by your income standards.
2. Too much card transactions
Credit cards are so sweet to swipe, but do you know every transaction you make has a charge?
When you go shopping and pay with your card, then you will actually spend more than what you had budgeted for.
Do not lose money on unnecessary card swipes. Use cash whenever you can.
3. Not saving or saving too little than you should
As 2019 knocks, you should be ready to save any amount you can despite how little you earn.
There are a group of people who earn enough but save too little while there are others who don't save completely.
If you fall in either of the groups, then know that 2019 will be even harder for you. Learn to save and save enough.
4. Making unnecessary purchases
What is the need to buy what you already have?
An instance is buying another TV set because the one you have is smaller.
This is right yes, but what is the point of buying another TV when you already have one?
The only way this can be relevant is when you sell the smaller one and add a little amount to purchase a new one.
But there is no point in having two TV sets.
5. Shopping without budget
This is Another sucker of your money.
When you plan to go shopping in 2019, make sure you leave your house with a budget.
Do not just jump into a store to do your shopping without a budget because you are likely to buy even what you don't really need.
Avoid impulse buys by having a budget before you go shopping.
