Joy and fanfare were in the air after the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) finally released the 2018 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results for two secondary schools in Migori County.
The Schools are Sigiria Mixed Secondary School in Rongo and Komotobo Mixed Secondary School in Kuria East Sub Counties respectively.
They were among eight Schools in Migori County that had their exam results withheld after Education Cabinet Secretary (CS) Ambassador Amina Mohammed released KCSE results in December, 2018.
The schools received the results on Wednesday, marking an end to the anxiety and agony that parents, teachers and candidates were experiencing during the period the results were being withheld.
"We are happy we have been spared the agony of thinking of how our children would repeat Form Four. Now, I can rest assured my daughter will proceed to another level," John Mwita, a parent was quoted by the Nation.
Migori County Director of Education Mr Luca Kangogo said six schools are still waiting for the results.
Maseno School in Kisumu County produced the second best student in the 2018 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) nationally.
James Kaluna of Maseno School was the second best student nationally.
Juliet Otieno of Pangani Girls Nairobi was the best student, with an A Plain mean grade of 87.66.
Humphrey Rasugu and Joshua Ochieng of Maseno School were also in the top 20 best candidates in the country.
