Ever since he expressed his interests in the eye-catching seat, he has made more enemies than friends. Many leaders such as Francis Atwoli and David Murathe have openly denounced DP Ruto's presidential ambitions.
Well, below are very key politicians Ruto must reconcile and work with to be the next president of the Republic of Kenya.
1. Ali Hassan Joho
Truth be told, Ali Hassan Joho is the kingpin of Coast politics.
The flamboyant Mombasa Governor and ODM deputy party leader has a say in Coast politics. For a long time, he has been at loggerhead with DP Ruto.
He has openly campaigned against Ruto's 2022 presidential ambitions. He is one of the politicians Ruto needs to work with to clinch the presidential ticket. This is because Joho has a huge following in Coast and other ODM strongholds.
He is in a capable position to marshall for Ruto's votes in such areas, especially the entire Coast region.
2. Babu Owino
He is the current Embakasi East MP. He has also openly criticised Ruto's presidential ambitions.
He has a huge following, especially amongst youths particularly in opposition strongholds. If Ruto works with him, Babu can manage to convince hundreds of youths to vote for Ruto, especially university students.
3. Gideon Moi
The famous son of former President Daniel Moi at one time expressed his interests too in the presidential ticket. Many believed that it was a way of dividing DP Ruto's votes in the Rift Valley region.
This may somehow be true based on the ongoing rebellion amongst Rift Valley MPs. Gideon Moi is in a position to divide DP Rutos votes in the Rift Valley region.
Therefore, he seriously needs to work with Gideon Moi to have a 100% vote count in the entire Rift Valley region.
