Kisumu will be the center of attraction in football circles on Sunday April 21 2019, when Kisumu All Stars hosts Wazito FC in an epic Football Kenya Federation National Super League (NSL) match at the Moi Stadium starting 1:00 pm.
The match was scheduled to start at 3:00 pm, but was later rescheduled due to the fact that Gor Mahia will be hosting Ulinzi Stars at the same venue in a Kenya Premier League (KPL) encounter starting 4:15 pm.
The winner of the match between Kisumu All Stars and Wazito FC will move to the top of NSL, if current leaders Ushuru FC lose or draw away to Eldoret Youth on the same day.
Ushuru lead NSL standings with 55 points after 27 rounds of play.
Wazito FC is second on the log with an identical 55 points but with an inferior goal difference, while Kisumu All Stars is third with 54 points, same as fourth placed Nairobi Stima.
After Sunday’s games, only 10 matches will be remaining before end of the season. Each team in the top four will want to be at its best in order to book the two automatic spots for KPL promotion next season.
The third placed team on the log at the end of the season will play against the third last team on the KPL log to book the last premier league slot available.
