President Uhuru Kenyatta on Tuesday held a meeting with the Commonwealth Secretary General, Patricia Scotland at State House, Nairobi.
Uhuru, who is completing his second and final term in government, discussed a range of issues with the Commonwealth secretariat.
During the meeting, President Kenyatta promised to integrate various instruments from the agency to ensure Kenya’s economy grows.
He assured the agency that his government is ready to cooperate with other countries under Commonwealth, to realize different economic goals before he retires from office.
“President Kenyatta assured the Commonwealth secretariat that Kenya is willing and ready to integrate the various instruments developed by the multilateral agency in the country's development programmes,” he said.
The president has been committed to leaving behind a legacy after his tenure elapses in 2022.
The Head of State is determined to preach the message of unity, and initiate different projects across the country within the remaining period.
He has pledged to work with other leaders including ODM leader Raila Odinga to make this dream a reality.
